What is Calm Sloth Spanish?
Calm Sloth Spanish creates no-prep, acquisition-driven Spanish lessons and free resources for busy middle school Spanish teachers. Our materials are built on comprehensible input so students acquire language naturally, and they're ready to teach with little or no preparation — including on sub days.
What does "no-prep" actually mean?
No-prep means the lesson is ready to teach as-is. Each resource includes everything you need — the script or reading, student materials, and teaching notes — so you can open it and walk into class without building anything from scratch. That makes them ideal for sub plans, too.
What is acquisition-driven or comprehensible input instruction?
It's a teaching approach where students acquire a language by understanding meaningful messages (comprehensible input) rather than by memorizing grammar rules in isolation. Lessons use stories, high-frequency vocabulary, visuals, and lots of listening and reading so the language sticks naturally. Read our full guide →
